Job Description:

Self-motivated, creative and responsible Graphic Designer to assist in the development of various marketing and sales creative projects and administrative updates. The types of work may include assisting with graphic design and marketing layouts, text editing, product photography and photo retouching, file management, technical brochures and cut sheets, engineering illustrations and website maintenance.

Summary:

Work as part of FWE’S R&D, Marketing, and Art team as a Graphic Designer & Photographer in Portland, TN.  Play a key role in developing graphic design content, technical cut sheets, web updates and product photography.

Essential Functions:

Assist in designing clear engaging graphic communications for print and web. This will include logos, direct mail, branded promotional items, website and social media graphics, posters, flyers, and other marketing materials as needed for both internal and external use•

Maintain brand appearance on all collateral

Photograph company products for brochures, website and service bulletins. This will include setting up digital camera, staging product properly, utilizing reflector boards and lighting, obtaining product from engineering, setting up the shoot/scene with props and employee models if needed, adjusting lighting and photo editing, color correcting with attention to detail and accuracy

Creating and constantly updating company’s literature, spec sheets, quick starts, and electrical diagrams

Creating and constantly updating operational manuals to help ensure proper and accurate operation by the end user.  Job includes printing manuals as needed for factory use

Create intuitive and appealing control panel overlays to help create a consistent and more easily recognizable company brand look and feel

Provide updates to the Company Web site and Social Media Properties

Improve current company promotional materials including info packets, handouts, etc.

Help with any public relations, copywriting, and other events that become a priority

Assist in brainstorming concepts for upcoming projects

Attend weekly engineering and marketing team meetings and or video teleconferences

Ensure all quality and delivery deadlines are met

Work with department manager to resolve any issues

Other duties as assigned by management

Must have portfolio with graphic design and photography examples demonstrating skill set

Must be proficient with the Adobe Creative Suite (Photoshop, Illustrator, Acrobat, InDesign, Dreamweaver), Microsoft Office and OSX and/or other common design and layout applications

Applicants with experience in technical commercial products and product photography experience highly preferred

Applicants with WordPress experience highly preferred

Physical Demands:

Must frequently lift and /or move up to 15 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move more weight (units) using a hand truck, pallet jack, cart, or dolly.  There are no special vision requirements for this job.

Work Environment:

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally travels to offsite work/job-related training at customer locations.

The noise level in the work environment is usually moderate.

Report directly to the Director of R & D and also work closely with project teams which may include President, VP of Manufacturing, Director of Marketing and Sales Manager.

Responsible for creating and updating mechanical and/or electrical drawings of FWE’s commercial foodservice equipment for use by those who assemble, install and service units.  Work hands on with engineering and production to ensure drawings are accurate and thorough.
