Perform functional testing, electrical troubleshooting, and quality verification of commercial warming and refrigeration equipment prior to shipment. Ensure all products meet FWE quality, safety, and performance standards through detailed inspection, diagnostic testing, documentation, and corrective action. Serve as a key technical resource within Quality Control to identify root causes, resolve minor electrical or mechanical issues, and escalate complex concerns appropriately.
The ideal candidate brings hands-on electrical experience, strong diagnostic skills, and the ability to read and interpret schematics. Bilingual capability is a plus.
ESSENTIAL JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
1. Perform electrical and functional testing of finished commercial warming and refrigeration units using multimeters, amp probes, temperature and humidity probes, and other diagnostic tools.
2. Troubleshoot electrical systems include wiring, components, controls, and heating or refrigeration circuits to identify and resolve defects.
3. Interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and technical drawings to diagnose issues accurately.
4. Measure and verify amperage, voltage, wattage, and temperature performance against engineering specifications.
5. Document detailed test results and findings accurately in QC documentation and internal systems.
6. Identify root causes of quality defects and perform minor electrical or mechanical corrections within scope of authority.
7. Escalate complex electrical, refrigeration, or assembly issues to Production, Engineering, or Supervisor with clear documentation.
8. Verify fit, finish, labeling accuracy, optional components, and overall product readiness prior to shipment.
9. Apply model labels, warning labels, and required compliance markings accurately.
10. Maintain an organized, safe, and audit-ready Quality Control area.
11. Support cross training and provide backup assistance to Clean & Pack or other production areas as assigned.
12. Promote a culture of safety, accountability, and continuous improvement within the QC function.
13. Perform other related duties as requested by management.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Strong electrical troubleshooting skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment required
- Ability to safely and accurately use a multimeter and electrical test equipment
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, electrical schematics, and part prints
- Experience diagnosing electrical components such as heating elements, thermostats, switches, relays, and basic refrigeration controls preferred
- Mechanically inclined with ability to correct minor electrical and mechanical deficiencies
- Strong attention to detail and documentation accuracy
- Demonstrated problem solving skills and sound technical judgment
- Ability to multi-task
- Ability to work independently while collaborating effectively with Production and Engineering teams
- Bilingual English and Spanish is a plus

EDUCATIONAL OR EXPERIENCE REQUIREMENTS:
- High school diploma or equivalent required
- Technical training, trade school certification, or related electrical experience preferred
- Minimum 2 years of related electrical, maintenance, QC, or troubleshooting experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment required
- Experience working with commercial food equipment, HVAC, or refrigeration systems preferred
