FWE HLC-1717 Series Heated Display Cabinets

The FWE HLC-1717 Series Heated Display Cabinets are designed to hold and showcase hot food items while helping operators improve visibility, merchandising, and product quality. Engineered for food courts, convenience operations, and grab-and-go service, this solution combines radiant heat technology with a high-visibility display format to enhance food presentation and operational efficiency.

Construction & Durability

Constructed with heliarc welded stainless steel and high-density fiberglass insulation, the HLC-1717 Series is built for long-lasting durability and sanitation. Features such as removable shelf racks, reinforced doors, and easy-to-clean interior surfaces ensure dependable performance in high-traffic retail environments.

Agency Approvals
CE - The CE mark is mandatory for products sold in the European Economic Area. It indicates the product conforms with certain manufacturing and design safety requirements. CE is similar to UL except it's more of a declaration by the manufacturer that the product meets the relevant rules, rather than being the mark of independent testing.
CUL - C-UL mark indicates a product meets the CSA testing standards for Canada.
C-UL-US mark indicates a product meets the UL and CSA testing standards for both the United States and Canada.
UL - The UL mark, which now serves customers in more than 100 countries, has become the authority on product safety. Its engineers test for things like soundness of design, safety of electrical components, and structural integrity of products for which UL listing is sought.
If you think of NSF International classification as protection for your customers, then the mark of Underwriters Laboratories (UL) indicates safety for those who work in your commercial kitchen. The Illinois-based testing agency assures that the equipment that gets its stamp operates safely. There is also a sanitation classification that offers similar assurances about food safety as the NSF mark. Products are indicated as "Classified UL-EPH."
UL EPH - UL EPH recognizes products certified to meet environmental and public health standards. The UL EPH logo shows the word "Classified" above the UL mark, which indicates that the product complies with ANSI/NSF standards, in addition to other applicable codes.

Heat System
Radiant Heat System - FWE's natural convection heat system allows a soft heat to radiate throughout the compartment. Heat rises naturally and circulates from bottom to top without blowers. Radiant heat is best suited for short term heated holding.

OPTIONS & ACCESSORIES

Bumpers
Top Corner Bumpers - Top corner bumpers are a good option for those customers not needing the protection of a full bumper, but still require protection for walls and surrounding equipment.
Full Bumper - Heavy duty full perimeter bumper extends beyond doors and handles for added protection. The bumper is mounted to the base frame for added durability - the bumper is not used as the base frame. In this way, the bumper absorbs all the shock in transport, protecting the integrity of the construction.
Caster
All Swivel Casters - All swivel casters allow for greater maneuverability. Great for tight turns or severe corners (such as on and off trucks or narrow hallways).
A drawback to the all swivel configuration is that it is harder to control the direction of the equipment when rolled in a straight line.

LONG FORM SPEC

Specified unit shall be FWE Model No. HLC-1717-11, Heated Display Cabinets.

CONSTRUCTION. Heliarc welded, single unit construction of stainless steel; 20 gauge polished exterior, 22 gauge stainless steel interior with easy-to-clean coved corners.

INSULATION. "Ultra-Guard" UG-26 high density fiberglass insulation throughout; top, back, bottom, sides and door(s). SHELVES. Shelves shall be removable and supported by a shelf rack assembly at fixed spacings of 2" (51 mm). Entire assembly is removable without tools for easy access to facilitate cleaning. Shelf rack assembly shall lift off heavy-duty stainless steel supports.

HANDLES. HLC-1717-11-UC provided with form grip flush-in-wall hand grips recess mounted on each side of unit.HLC-1717-11 and HLC-1717-13 provided without handles.

LEGS: COUNTERTOP MODELS. Each leg shall have a reinforced mounting plate welded to base of unit.

DOORS AND LATCHES:
COUNTERTOP MODELS. Flush mounted see-thru Lexan door shall have a gasket and vertical magnetic work flow door handle. Door shall have two (2) heavy-duty edgemount die cast hinges.
DOORS AND LATCHES:
UNDER COUNTER MODELS. Flush mounted double pan, stainless steel door shall have 1" thick fiberglass insulation. High temperature door gasket mounted on cabinet. Door shall be equipped with horizontal magnetic work flow door handle. Door shall have two (2) heavy-duty edgemount die cast hinges.

CASTERS: UNDER COUNTER MODELS. Maintenance free polyurethane tire casters in configuration of four (4) swivel. Casters shall have a reinforced yoke mounted to 10 gauge caster plate. The caster mounting plate shall be secured to a 10 gauge stainless steel reinforcing stress plate via welded in place stainless steel studs. The reinforcing stress plates shall be welded to the heavy gauge tubular frame of the unit.

HEATED SYSTEM/CONTROLS. Radiant heat system shall include an Incoloy nickel-chromium alloy heating element. Electronic controls shall include an easy to read digital display of cabinet temperature (with recall capacity of temperature set point and actual cabinet temperature), equipped with a programmable low temperature alarm, master ON/OFF switch with power indicator light. Adjustable temperature range from 90°F to 190°F (32°C to 88°C).

ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS. 3 wire grounded power cord and plug. See electrical data chart above for amperage and receptacle configuration. See electrical chart for models that require a dedicated circuit.

INSTALLATION. Unit should not be installed in an area where adverse environmental conditions are present.
