The FWE PTST-1314 Series Top Mount Prisoner Tray Transport & Serve Cabinets are designed specifically for secure meal transport and service in correctional facilities. Engineered for minimum, medium, and maximum security environments, these heated holding cabinets combine tamper-resistant construction, transport durability, and reliable temperature performance to support safe and efficient institutional foodservice operations.

Construction & Durability

Constructed with heliarc welded stainless steel, reinforced tubular framing, 18-gauge stainless steel exterior panels, ceramic and fiberglass insulation, and additional weld reinforcements at critical stress points, the PTST-1314 Series is designed for demanding institutional environments. Reinforced push handles, tamper-resistant fasteners, and commercial-duty caster systems ensure dependable long-term performance.

Agency Approvals
UL - The UL mark, which now serves customers in more than 100 countries, has become the authority on product safety. Its engineers test for things like soundness of design, safety of electrical components, and structural integrity of products for which UL listing is sought.
If you think of NSF International classification as protection for your customers, then the mark of Underwriters Laboratories (UL) indicates safety for those who work in your commercial kitchen. The Illinois-based testing agency assures that the equipment that gets its stamp operates safely. There is also a sanitation classification that offers similar assurances about food safety as the NSF mark. Products are indicated as "Classified UL-EPH."
UL EPH - UL EPH recognizes products certified to meet environmental and public health standards. The UL EPH logo shows the word "Classified" above the UL mark, which indicates that the product complies with ANSI/NSF standards, in addition to other applicable codes.

Super Duty Bumper - Super duty full perimeter bumper is wider and thicker than our standard perimeter bumper. This is a good option for frequent transport or correctional environments.

EZ Roll Heavy Duty Poly Caster - The EZ Roll Casters are standard on FWE cabinets and provide moderate floor protection with a high weight capacity.
EZ roll casters are shock absorbing and roll easier under heavy loads.

Top Corner Bumpers - Top corner bumpers are a good option for those customers not needing the protection of a full bumper, but still require protection for walls and surrounding equipment.
Top Bumper - Top mounted heavy duty full perimeter bumper extends beyond doors and handles for added protection during transport.
Caster
All Swivel Casters - All swivel casters allow for greater maneuverability. Great for tight turns or severe corners (such as on and off trucks or narrow hallways).
A drawback to the all swivel configuration is that it is harder to control the direction of the equipment when rolled in a straight line.

LONG FORM SPEC

Specified unit shall be FWE Model No. PTST-1314-32, Prisoner Tray Transport & Serve Cabinets.

CONSTRUCTION. Heliarc welded, single unit construction of stainless steel; 18 gauge polished exterior, 22 gauge stainless steel interior with easy-to-clean coved corners. Welded tubular base frame shall be 1" square, heavy gauge stainless steel tubing, with 10 gauge stainless steel reinforcing stress plates at corners.

INSULATION. Insulated throughout; top, back, bottom, sides, doors using high density ceramic and fiberglass insulation.

HANDLES. Heavy-duty 1" diameter tubular stainless steel push handles. Reinforced and welded with stainless steel channel to prevent removal.

SUPER-DUTY BUMPER. Solid, 1.5" high, wraparound aluminum channel, bolted to frame, with snap-in, non-marking replaceable vinyl cushion. Full perimeter bumper extends beyond doors, handles, etc., for added protection. Shall be continuous, with corner cut-outs to facilitate cleaning. Super-Duty Bumper shall be made of thicker 0.25" aluminum and be wider at 4.875".

DOORS AND LATCHES. Flush mounted, stainless steel, insulated doors. Each door shall have three (3) heavy-duty, 12 gauge stainless steel hinges. Each door shall be equipped with a positive closing, flush-in-door, stainless steel paddle latch. The hinge and latch mountings are reinforced with stainless steel backing plates. Each door shall be provided with padlock compatible (padlock not included) transport/security latch.

CASTERS. 6" maintenance free, polyurethane casters in a configuration of two (2) rigid, and two (2) swivel with brake. Casters shall have a reinforced yoke welded to 10 gauge caster mounting plate. The caster mounting plate shall be secured to a 10 gauge stainless steel reinforcing stress plate via welded in place stainless steel studs. The reinforcing stress plates shall be welded to the heavy gauge tubular frame of the unit.

HEATING SYSTEM/CONTROLS. Top mounted, forced air blower system shall include one (1) Hi-Temp, self-lubricated, impedance protected, fan-cooled blower motor to distribute heat equally throughout cabinet interior. Heating element shall be located at top of cabinet to eliminate hot spots and to prevent overheating of lower trays and pans. Back wall heat distribution tunnel shall be vented for balanced air circulation. Controls shall be up-front, recessed and shall include a full range thermostat. Temperature control knob is set in-factory and is concealed behind the front panel. Thermostat shall include temperature scale marked in ten degree increments (F/C) from 90° to 190°F (30° to 90°C). An operational range thermometer, power supply light, thermostat cycling light, and 20 amp ON/OFF switch are also included.

CAPACITY. Does not include rack or shelf. Contact factory for custom shelving.

ABUSE RESISTANT FEATURES. Cabinet shall have thermostat knob retention strap, and 1/4" thick Lexan cover over the thermometer. Both shall be attached with tamper-proof fasteners to prevent unauthorized removal. Cabinet shall have tamper-resistant fasteners in all critical areas, and extra welds throughout for added durability. Heavy-duty 1" diameter tubular stainless steel push handles shall be welded in place and reinforced with stainless steel channel to prevent removal. Each door shall be provided with padlock compatible (padlock not included) transport/security latch.

ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS. 3 wire grounded tri-directional power cord and plug, rear mounted for safety. See electrical data chart above for amperage and receptacle configuration. See electrical chart for models that require a dedicated circuit.

INSTALLATION. Unit should not be installed in an area where adverse environmental conditions are present.
