P-48-XL - 48 Plate Capacity
Designed to accommodate up to 48 pre-plated meals on larger 12.375" plates, the P-48-XL delivers dependable heated holding and transport for banquets and catered events. This unit combines FWE's durable construction with the gentle, even performance of the Humi-Temp heat and humidity system to preserve food quality until service.

Recessed controls protect settings during transit, while removable "no sag" shelves make cleanup easy between events. With rugged casters, full bumper protection, and reinforced handles, the P-48-XL is built for daily use in fast-paced environments where reliable performance matters.

Agency Approvals
NSF - NSF International (formerly known as the National Sanitation Foundation) is an independent, non-profit organization that certifies food service equipment and ensures it is designed and constructed in a way that promotes food safety. FWE products that meet these standards bear the NSF mark.
You may also see a designation that a product meets NSF/ANSI, which adds rules from the American National Standards Institute to the testing. ANSI works closely with NSF to develop its food safety standards and complete testing to those.
UL - The UL mark, which now serves customers in more than 100 countries, has become the authority on product safety. Its engineers test for things like soundness of design, safety of electrical components, and structural integrity of products for which UL listing is sought.
If you think of NSF International classification as protection for your customers, then the mark of Underwriters Laboratories (UL) indicates safety for those who work in your commercial kitchen. The Illinois-based testing agency assures that the equipment that gets its stamp operates safely. There is also a sanitation classification that offers similar assurances about food safety as the NSF mark. Products are indicated as "Classified UL-EPH."
CUL - C-UL mark indicates a product meets the CSA testing standards for Canada.
C-UL-US mark indicates a product meets the UL and CSA testing standards for both the United States and Canada.
CE - The CE mark is mandatory for products sold in the European Economic Area. It indicates the product conforms with certain manufacturing and design safety requirements. CE is similar to UL except it's more of a declaration by the manufacturer that the product meets the relevant rules, rather than being the mark of independent testing.
Bumpers
Full Bumper - Heavy duty full perimeter bumper extends beyond doors and handles for added protection. The bumper is mounted to the base frame for added durability - the bumper is not used as the base frame. In this way, the bumper absorbs all the shock in transport, protecting the integrity of the construction.

EZ Roll Heavy Duty Poly Caster - The EZ Roll Casters are standard on FWE cabinets and provide moderate floor protection with a high weight capacity.

Caster
All Swivel Casters - All swivel casters allow for greater maneuverability. Great for tight turns or severe corners (such as on and off trucks or narrow hallways).
A drawback to the all swivel configuration is that it is harder to control the direction of the equipment when rolled in a straight line.

SHORT FORM SPEC

Specified unit shall be FWE Model P-48-XL:

CONSTRUCTION. Heliarc welded, single unit construction of stainless steel; 20 gauge polished exterior, 22 gauge stainless steel interior with easy-to-clean coved corners. Welded tubular base frame shall be 1 square, heavy gauge stainless steel tubing, with 10 gauge stainless steel reinforcing stress plates at corners.

INSULATION. "Ultra-Guard" UG-26 high density fiberglass insulation throughout; top, back, bottom, sides, and doo(s).

PUSH BARS HANDLES. Heavy-duty, solid formed 1 x .375 thick; mounted at each end of unit. Mounting reinforced with stainless steel channel.

BUMPER. Solid 1.5 wide continuous wraparound aluminum channel, bolted to frame, with snap-in, non-marking vinyl cushion. Full perimeter bumper extends beyond doors, handles, etc., for added protection. Shall be continuous, with corner cut-outs to facilitate cleaning.

DOORS AND LATCHES. Flush mounted, stainless steel insulated doors. High temperature gasket sealed; gasket shall be cabinet mounted. Each door shall have two (2) heavy-duty edgemount die cast hinges. Doors shall have edgemounted and full grip door latches. The hinge and latch mountings are reinforced with stainless steel backing plates.

CASTERS. Maintenance free polyurethane tire casters in a configuration of two (2) rigid and two (2) swivel with brake. P-144-XL, P-180-XL and P-200-XL models shall be standard with a caster configuration of two (2) rigid and four (4) swivel with brake. Casters shall have a reinforced yoke mounted to 10 gauge caster plate. The caster mounting plate shall be secured to a 10 gauge stainless steel reinforcing stress plate via welded in place stainless steel studs. The reinforcing stress plates shall be welded to the heavy gauge tubular frame of the unit.

SHELVES. Triple plated, welded rod-type shelves shall be removable. Shelves shall be supported by high strength, "no sag" 14 gauge die-formed stainless steel brackets.

HEATING SYSTEM / CONTROLS. Patented built-in "Humi-Temp" system shall include an incoloy nickel-chromium alloy heating element and Hi-Temp, self-lubricated, impedance protected fan-cooled blower motor. Cabinet shall have humidifying chamber and drawer style baffled humidifier pan. Both shall be stainless steel and removable. Controls shall be up-front, recessed and shall include a full range thermostat adjustable to actual temperature. Thermostat shall include temperature scale marked in ten degree increments (F/C) from 90A° to 190A°F (32A° to 88A°C). An operational range thermometer, power supply light, thermostat cycling light, and 20 amp ON/OFF switch are also included.

ELECTRICAL CHARACTERISTICS. 3 wire grounded tri-directional power cord and plug, rear mounted for safety. See electrical data chart above for amperage and receptacle configuration. See electrical chart for models that require a dedicated circuit.

INSTALLATION. Unit should not be installed in an area where adverse environmental conditions are present.
